Little Vines 6053 – 6067

This set of Little Vines was written 4/17/23.

6053.
The person claiming to be Greer Greer
is actually her twin
Greer Greer. Got it?

6054.
Missing ingredients.
Heat applied without much care.
There is nothing like a meatloaf
that has been cooked absentmindedly.

6055.
a scab on your knee –
like peeling wallpaper
you can’t help picking at it

6056.
Think how you can
disappoint me
and set me free

6057.
she stole from my purse
my malicious guardian angel
what did you think the purse was for? she said

6058.
A woman wearing pink pants and
shoes run over at the heels
frying the meat in a worn-out skillet

6059.
A saintly woman. Oh yes. Once,
she had even brought a tame worm
back from the brink of death.

6060.
Tish Flamingo’s dream
was not a premonition
and meant nothing.

6061.
I’m the re-glued sole of your shoe
I’m the bus fare you don’t have
I’m the cheap knife that’s all you can afford
But plenty good to do what you hired me for.

6062.
I designed a pattern
Sewed a beautiful pair of cat’s-paws
Exact dupe-licates

6063.
The cat walks in the dark
So careful
So very anonymous

6064.
what’s a volcano’s purpose
if it’s not
to make life more full of lava?

6065.
the carpet
a dropped straight pin
bare feet
a tiny drop of blood

6066.
He gave me
this pair of tiny pearl earrings
but he fell in love with you

6067.
cough
worry
hospital
dead

  1. Of course I love 6063. but also 6060. Somehow we think everything must have meaning. But maybe it just is, like so many of these people. (K)

    • In my younger days I felt everything had a message or was a sign or some such thing. Now, I rarely think so, although there are some occasions where it does seem possible. But mostly, I prefer this current life I have of thinking nothing has a meaning other than what I want to assign to it.
