Slightly Skewed
A lug
Of hot sea
A clump
Of pressed money
A crowdy bust of rafter
Pilled in the emotion
The cable moth
Is singing yet
Drab a yowl
Pop it up
The smarty glows on!

I must confess that the meaning of this poem currently eludes me but I do love your turn of phrase.
Well, you know, when I wrote this, I was playing a game with myself, I had some phrases written out and then I turned them into rhyming words (A lug of hot sea, was a mug of hot tea). But the problem is, I didn’t write down the originals, guess I thought I’d remember. I do know the last line is the party goes on…and the crowdy bust of rafter was a rowdy gust of laughter… Anyway, I liked the way it sounds like it is, too, there is just enough sense to puzzle you, I think.
Ah! Then it makes sense that I enjoyed it simply for the wonderful word play and the sound of those phrases.
Yes, that is what I like about taking something that makes sense and then sort of substituting, it is so fun to see what words combinations turn up.
Ha! Cockney rhyming slang strikes again – sort of! It makes sense now….
Sometimes I just like to play around with words. The unexpected things that happen when you do something like this really amuse me and sometimes, enlighten.!
