Well she bought a house
real small and real cheap
but it’s got style
she said
Palais
she said
it is French for
Palace
This one’s mine,
she said
This one is mine.

I’m imagining a woman who has scrimped and saved to buy a house. I hope she’s happy there.
I wrote this thinking of when I bought my own home (way back when, and it was a condo, but still). The feelings expressed are true to life!
That makes it more special!
I remember that feeling of buying my own first home and what an accomplishment it felt like, how it felt like stability.
Yes, the same for me, I bought my condo on my own before I was married and I was thrilled to have my own home. It meant everything to me.

I remember when I bought my condo (on my own before I was married). Those three rooms meant the world to me.
I like the idea that you can still call your home a palace and it really will be – to you!
