If you liked my meatloaf

Third rate work will always thrive
there is so much of it around –
Genius has it harder
being rare
and not to everyone’s taste
neither of which
by the way
my meatloaf is. It is not
Undercooked
and unpopular
I mean. Go on, take another helping.
Everyone does.

Claudia McGill Writes Poetry, Did You Know That? 
That is an interesting observation, the safety that comes from producing the everyday, the humdrum, the way in which taking no risks may lead to mediocrity but also avoids the scrutiny and critiques that comes with producing something of note. Or maybe that interpretation just makes me feel better. Ha ha!
