I really like the message of the metaphor in the final poem: identify and name the thing that haunts you and it allows you to take control of it.
I was always told that if I had a nightmare, to recount it to someone and it would not recur. It always worked for me. As does just facing the darn ghosts and sending them on their way by knowing them well and saying so…
