A Flick of the Light
tread water
deep end of the pool
tiny tiles
wavering
on the bottom twelve feet down
my feet languid wraiths
my hands clouds
who float me. The gloom
descending
I hover
in it with it above it
A fish breathing air

This poem is beautiful. Your words transported me to that magical and almost out-of-body relaxing feeling of floating in water.
Thank you. That’s exactly how I feel in the water, out of body, and on a summer day when the water ripples and sparkles and the shadows float across the bottom of the pool, I just love it.
