Lightning strike
from the white sky
Summer glare
turned sullen
flipped to angry. Asphalt streets
steam in pelting rain.

Raises her right arm
signals out to the darkness
Her face impassive
Your first poem perfectly captures the atmosphere of a hot and humid stormy summer evening and how funny that you posted this poem from 2020 today after yesterday’s will-it-won’t-it storm watch.
Thank you. I am often struck by how I post a poem and it fits the day, even though it was written some time before…Hmmm…Do I have influence with the universe? (I think not, I think it is because I try to match the time of year the poem was written with when I publish it, but,…it is a nice idea…)
