The removal
Approaching the
Vast
heart
Unsettled and uncertain
In Turbulence
I watch
The silver fish slip downstream
Slice through the cold green and
Flash Past me And away
I wait
My soul eased

I love this one. I bookmarked in the book. (K)
Thank you. I think out of however many poems I write, maybe 1 in 200 says what I feel, exactly. And this is one of them. It is one I reread to bring myself back from the edge (if it is not too conceited to do this with your own poetry) because this thought path and images is from somewhere deep and true, I feel.
Deep and true–that it is. I will return to it.
What beautiful imagery. It makes me think of all the salmon and trout I have seen leaping their way through water.
Thank you. I return to fish as images I think because of my own associations with water that go back so far. To me, the water is home, I feel weightless, graceful, free in it in a way I do not ever feel on earth.
