inherit?
not the slightest chance
said the voice
and I heard
three underlinings, in ink,
reinforce slightest

Haiku 824

Big fish flip and flick
superlatives and small talk
Murk in a still pond

Haiku 825

Disputatious fish.
The brittle goldfish bowl cracks.
Who got the last word?

  1. These are great. I especially like the last one and what it communicates about the fragility and the destructive impact of some relationships. Also, the word “disputatious” does not get used often enough.

    • Yes, I remember writing it down to try to use it. Disputatious, I mean. And then I end up with goldfish. Who knows where ideas come from. But I like that word and i agree, it certainly could be used more often and very appropriately these days.
