  1. These are all fabulous. I especially like the first one because I do agree that part of what makes a house a home rather than a sterile show home is that it contains the clutter and mess of our lives and that is part of its personality, an extension or complement to our own personalities.

    • Yes. It is our way of arranging things that makes a house a home and it’s those quirky little items I like to look for when I visit other homes.

  2. Laura (PA Pict) took the words right out of my mouth! A home holds the chaos of thoughts and dreams and what might have beens . Once the home has been scraped out of the building it is nothing more than a vessel, a house, a container waiting for people to move their stuff in and make it a home..

    • Yes, that is so true. And I believe that some buildings, even empty, have developed a personality, and I don’t know if they had it before, or if it is influenced by the people and their possessions now gone, or both? It is something I like to think about.
