On Standby
The chartreuse bird
owns the sky
blotting out the sun
in the little summer
during which
I couldn’t say how many
people look at it. Anxious.
Anything more modern
than existential terror
anything more necessary
who can imagine it
so
it makes me confused
that I hope
alone of all the people I know
the bird
will speak to us
and I am not afraid
to listen.

I hope it speaks too. (K)
Yes. I feel it would be a message from the universe, of some kind. And that, I would be eager to listen.
This bird seems almost mythological. I am definitely intrigued as to what it would communicate.
I’ve always felt I understand the universe vision of mythology much more than any other explanations. I guess I want to add my part.
This feels like a dream where you know and don’t know what’s going on. There’s a magical realism feel. I really like it, and I hope the bird speaks, too.
Thank you. Somehow I feel confident it will. I’ve always felt that mythological explanations fit the way I see the universe. I’m waiting for signs and messages. And I’ve also always thought birds know things. I’m hoping maybe to be a bird in a future life if things go that way.
Birds do seem to know things. Maybe things will go your way.
Beautiful lines but from where can we get the bird! Well shared thanks 😊👍
I am hoping for spring and some serious bird song – I’m listening…
Yes, me too!
