And she stared at me,
a remnant of a recognition
fallen out of the past


350.
the man is observed
a newcomer
and dangerous,
depend on that.

I wonder if that was
one of the rose bushes
dressing up as a potato.

  1. Rose bush dressed up as a potato. That sounds like something I could put on a dating profile. Ha ha! I really love the ambiguity of the first poem. The spark of recognition could be the start of an exciting reunion but it could also be read as a poignant moment of lucidity from someone whose memory is fading.
