Not necessary to tell me
this old tree is withering
Lady I know
it’s not a nice neighborhood
but at least try
a taste of the shade here on the sidewalk
watch the thin leaves flutter in this slight breeze
Rest a minute
here with us
Just a minute more.

I like the fortitude of this tree, standing strong while the street around it goes through changes, and rewarding those who also stay a while with some shade.
Sometimes there’s one stable thing in a changing scene. That keeps things on an even keel. That’s what I think about here in this poem.
Beautifully written ! We all want to rest there for more than a minute ! Well shared 🙂👍😊💞
