Both poems are great but I am especially taken by the word choice in the second one. I like the way the words describing the actions are somewhat harsh, suggestive of violence even, but the action is being undertaken in order to nurture something into life. I like that interplay.
Thank you. I think its easy to overlook the fact that planting something and hoping it will grow, well, it’s hard work to do that and hard work for the plant to eventually become something. The odds are never better than even. Sometimes I feel you have to be detached in situations like this – just do the job, maybe, and be stoic about what happens next.
