cream blouse and
tan-white patterned-dot
pencil skirt
your face young
painfully eager to please.

Cake batter
Mixer whirls the bowl
Flour sashays
butter skips
Sugar hops! Cake in oven –
Let’s lick the beaters!

The ranks of
tall skinny and short
stubby and
the ones that
fall in between – who will be
the mediator?
I love the idea of the mixing of the cake being like choreography. I also enjoyed the portrait of first job eagerness.
Thank you. I often think cooking is a very dance like activity – you have to make motions, and move, bend and walk and sometimes hurry, sometimes not – I bet if someone did a video of someone cooking we would see this very readily. And different dance every time.
Who doesn’t lick the beaters is a criminal.
Absolutely. I don’t understand how or why anyone would even think of resisting.
