coiled measuring tape
lies like a satisfied snake
nesting in thread spools
Haiku 864

Two thick wires arrive
at the outlet in the basement.
I plug in my iron.
Both poems are great but I especially enjoyed the snake tape measure. I often reel in the tape so quickly that the metal end bites my fingers so your metaphor feels apt.
Yes, that seem thing happens to me, no matter how much I tell myself to be careful. I never learn and the tape takes advantage…
That measuring tape sounds menacing!
You know how those metal ones cut your fingers and don’t think a thing about it, do they?
