Too Much Complete

You went down to the bus station
picked up a ride and in due time
you and the bus reached the place
your ticket paid you up to
You and the bus
who dropped you off
on the sidewalk in front of a gas station
out on the two-lane highway

from which place the bus went on alone
taking its taillights out of sight down the road
leaving you alone with
your longing to continue to be going on too
to be in the easy-going in transit
to remain suspended
in the comfortable eternity of putting off until later

but this sudden state of having arrived
it was too much. It overtook you it swallowed you up
it was too much and too soon and
you were not ready to be
arrived: it being

sitting down on a cold seat cushion
you are going to have to warm up
