1. I love the fulcrum of this poem and the way that the problem of a miserably rainy day is then spun into the solution of comfort cooking and baking.

   • I remember writing this poem , doing the first part, and not feeling like drifting into further gloom – I often feel that bad weather is a good reason for pleasant indoor things to happen..

2. Cinnamon is often all you need. Good in a cup of coffee too. (K)

   • I remember when I first had coffee with cinnamon and I thought of it as exotic and very classy.

5. The first part of the poem was melancholy and then it definitely perked up! Reading and cookies – throw in a pot of tea and I am good for a rainy day 🙂

   • I like rainy days just for this reason. You cannot be outside and so why not settle down and enjoy?
