To Come
there isn’t anyone
there is a silence
a silence with no one to hear it
a silence mostly content to sit alone
alone in the living room
alone before the window
the window cracked open
the window that lets the breeze in
in case a breeze wants in
in case anyone comes home

The ability to sit in complete silence is one of my definitions of contentment.
Yes. Especially in a place like a library, or a hallway in a building after work hours. There is a vibration in the air, it is not dead, but it’s not full of people, either. A nice quality to the silence.
