Letter of Resignation
Parted on bad terms.
Now on no terms
at all. The grief and sorrow
they fade but
the cruelty of the impersonal
this is what happened
is lived with every day.
What’s broken
stays broken.

Yes, the “cruelty of the impersonal.”
Worse than getting hated is no one even caring. I think.
Yes, perhaps so.
It really is the “impersonal” nature of it that cuts the deepest.
Yes, it is painful to be a matter of indifference to another person, I think, very painful.
All the what ifs. (K)
You know, I think if you stop and really think about how many what ifs there have been in life, over the decades, your head would explode (I mean, my head would explode). I try not to second guess myself anymore (a life-long habit).
So true. Some things are hard to let go of, but I am trying too. I understand some of the whys of what happened a bit better at least.
