One More
Brown leaves on the ground.
Bare trees
that meet autumn thicker by a ring
Twig fingers
that scratch a higher sky
Root toes
that curl deeper in the earth.
One more year. One more year.

Wonderful poem. You really capture the shape and form of the tree plus its fortitude and endurance.
As you know I like trees and I think people could do a lot worse than take them for an example of how to live.
