Unsolvable
The two of them
ran toward the solution
knocked heads
fell to the ground
concussed
Poor x and y
it never works out for them
I don’t know why they don’t say
we just can’t do this anymore

This is how I feel about many a math problem these days. “Use it or lose it” has proved to be very true for my brain when it comes to numeracy skills.
I had the idea that I would like to study algebra again and see if it made any more sense to me than it did in school, but I decided why try? I wrote this poem because to me, I had to visualize some concrete picture in order to solve equations and if I could stay on the idea of completing a pattern, it was easier, but maybe if I had though of the unknowns as characters, it might have worked out better?
