On Another World
Lying on the ground
a yellow fruit
pleated along its edge.
See its stem. It has no toes
no feet
to evade us.
Pick it up and peel it
we will share it.

I know you don’t object to my daft interpretations so I shall inform you that I immediately imagined the narrator to be a chimpanzee wandering through the jungle with a chum.
This is very funny to me because I wrote this poem about my banana that I was having for lunch in the Montco library cafeteria. I remember very clearly writing this poem about it all in one quick spurt.
PS your interpretations are never daft.
